Start-up in Wetteren raises capital for LED light disinfection technology

WETTEREN – Duncan Verstraeten, previously responsible for the Danish electronics company Servodan, founded ZAPARAY in Wetteren at the beginning of 2020. It is already his third successful start-up in the LED industry. This year also Mieke Flour came on board, with whom he previously worked at Barco and Niko. With Zaparay they produce innovative disinfection applications with ultraviolet light. Duncan: “Disinfection has become a permanent part of our daily activities; the usefulness of good object-surface hygiene is beyond argument. Our equipment neutralizes viruses, bacteria and fungi in an environmentally friendly way by means of new LED technology. We achieve 99.9999% viral disinfection in 30 seconds.”
